Cheer on your favorite Charlotte sports teams this fall

It’s time to start counting down to kickoff or the first pitch. Yes, that’s right! Late summer or early fall, you’ll find fans donning their game jerseys and getting ready to root for their favorite Charlotte sports teams.

Panther Nation

Here in the Queen City, we love our Panthers. I’m still waiting to run into Cam Newton at the grocery store (I’m totally normal, I promise). Most Charlottans have a countdown running until the first preseason game at Bank of America Stadium, the team’s headquarters located in Uptown Charlotte. Better hurry and order tickets regardless of time of year, ranging in price between $20 (my speed), and $1000 (die-hard fan).

There are plenty of ways for the whole family to enjoy a day on the gridiron. Visit the Panthers Lair located near the South Gate and the East Gate on the corner of Mint and Moorehead Streets. The Panthers Lair is a pregame festivities area that is free and opens two hours prior to kickoff. Kids can get their faces painted, get autographs from the TopCats, and a snap a photo with the official mascot Sir Purr. The Panthers Lair has something different before each game, so make it a tradition before every game!

Three strikes, you’re out!

You know, I used to consider the Charlotte Knights the city’s hidden gem … but given the fact that the last two times I tried to get tickets the day of a game, they were sold out, I’m having to rethink this title. The Charlotte Knights are a minor league baseball team and are a Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Their stadium is glorious. I’ve never in my life seen a baseball stadium with a more impressive skyline view. Their August schedule is packed with games, but get your tickets early! They sell out regularly. They play at home almost the whole first full week of August as well as a long weekend the third weekend of the month. You can view their full schedule online and get tickets there. Splurge on third base seats and get a great view, easy access to beer and hotdogs, and the sun going down behind you. Play ball!
